When lockdown struck, I couldn't go outside anywhere, so I was just in my house…bored. I was always interested in pottery and clay molding, but I never liked the entire mess that the huge wheels created.

So when I learned about miniature pottery, I was ecstatic. I immediately bought a miniature pottery wheel, but quickly found that the motor had very low torque, I struggled to do basic pottery tasks like centering and opening, and the overall experience was awful. After some research online, I found that most existing miniature pottery wheels had these issues.

That same day, I decided to make my own miniature pottery wheel, so I headed to my garage and, after hours of experimenting, came up with a working prototype. It worked perfectly, and when some peers showed interest in this contraption, I realized that I could refine this product and share it with the world. I spent the next 12 months iterating and designing a new miniature pottery wheel. MINIMA was born.
